Your booking information
How The Auto Salon uses your information when you request a booking.
Who handles your information
The Auto Salon Limited is responsible for the information used to administer your booking. Company number 137342C. For questions or requests about your information, contact Declan at Dec@theautosalon.im or 07624 244288.
Information used for a booking
The booking path records your name, email, telephone number, service address, vehicle details, selected service, preparation information, requested appointment, payment status and Declan’s review. Information you include in booking notes forms part of the request.
This information supports reviewing and carrying out your requested service, administering the deposit and appointment, handling payment uncertainty and keeping security and audit records. Contact and service details are needed to administer an online request.
Selecting a slot and paying a deposit does not automatically confirm an appointment. Declan makes the booking approval decision.
Why the information is needed
Handling your booking request and delivering an agreed service involves taking steps at your request before a contract and performing that contract. Accounting records are retained where a legal obligation applies. Securing the website, preventing duplicate payments and handling disputes support the legitimate interests of operating the service safely and protecting customers and the business.
The booking checkbox acknowledges the terms and privacy information; it is not permission to use your details for unrelated marketing. Without the required contact, vehicle and service-location details, an online booking request cannot be completed.
Services used to provide the website
- Vercel hosts the website and application.
- Supabase provides database storage and internal authentication.
- Google Calendar holds approved appointments, including the customer name, telephone number, vehicle, service address and booking time.
- SumUp processes online card payments.
- One.com provides business email.
Card details and security codes are entered into SumUp’s payment form and sent directly to SumUp; the website server does not store them.
These services operate internationally. Hosting and related processing can include the United States and other countries outside the Isle of Man. Vercel and Supabase publish data-processing terms describing their transfer arrangements; Google describes its global processing and transfer frameworks in its privacy policy.
Provider information: Vercel processing terms, Supabase processing terms, Google privacy, SumUp privacy, and One.com privacy.
Booking sessions and private access
Customers do not need an account. A necessary secure session cookie links your checkout to your browser. Declan’s private review is protected by sign-in and an additional authentication check. Payment and hosting services may also use necessary session and security mechanisms.
Keeping and correcting records
We keep booking information while it is needed to handle your request, provide the service and deal with any payment, agreed follow-up, complaint or dispute. Some records must be kept to meet accounting, legal, safety and audit requirements.
Declan reviews customer records at least annually and removes or anonymises information that is no longer needed, after checking those requirements. Every deletion or anonymisation requires his approval; there is no automatic deletion schedule.
Contact Declan to request access, correction or deletion, or to ask about restricting processing, portability or an objection. Applicable rights depend on the circumstances; a request does not automatically delete a payment or booking record that must be retained.
You can also contact the Isle of Man Information Commissioner about your information rights or a complaint.
